Facilitate your brain power & read Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology

The fact that we as human beings only utilize a portion of our brain power has been well documented by psychologists and those who research and study mental activity. This book however will help us to change that.

In my opinion, Mr. Taylor deciphers the mysterious and sometimes perceived voodoo attached to both hypnosis and subliminal technology. He decodes and translates technical and often puzzling data into a practical syllabus that can be carried out by a layman. Mr. Taylor's recommendations along with the accompanying CD will help you to maximize and positively influence your mental capacity.

I feel that once you have read Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology, the power of the mind and its ability to enhance or blemish your quality of life, will be fully appreciated. The brain runs the whole show. It dictates all that we do and how we do it. In my opinion, if your desire is to maximize your standard of living with a coherent and vibrantly healthy brain, this is a read that should be in your library.

Awakening T Luminous Mind: Tibetan Meditation for Inner Peace

This book is indeed an awakening experience. If you honestly want to reveal your total authentic self, (the good, the bad, and the ugly) then this is the book for you. For instance I found that although my challenge with anger has greatly subsided I still have significant efforts that I must focus on for successful resolution. However instead of being disappointed regarding this issue, the prescripts advised by Rinpoche made this revelation, along with others a welcomed breakthrough and has provided me with a rejuvenating sense of awareness.

I must admit for me, certain passages and concepts had to be revisited. However I must say once I fully grasped what Rinpoche was sharing, I came away with an ability to fully enjoy the blessing a clear, relaxed, and genuinely conscious mind has to offer.  It is as if I have administered a thorough spring cleaning of my mind and exposed stale emotions I thought I had successfully conquered.   I had read in another review that if you enjoy the teachings of Ekhart Tolle you will enjoy this book and CD. I would like to add meditation masters Doctors Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and meditation coach Davidji (Mr. Melodic) to the list.

Meals That Heal Inflammation by Julie Daniluk RHN

If you are interested in reducing your risks regarding particular health concerns, or, alleviating symptoms and problems related to a current health issue, Meals That Heal Inflammation will be an invaluable manuscript to have in your library.  The Cause of inflammation, exactly what it is, and how it affects our health is laid out in a precise and easy to understand format. The definitions provided and the correlation between inflammation and illness helps us to understand why we suffer from certain health issues and more importantly how to initiate a healing course of action.

There are charts that provide menu plans for omnivores, vegans, and those who have allergies. The recipes are marked with a legend so you can clearly choose an option that is egg, wheat, soy, nut or dairy free. This legend also includes the glycemic index score for people who have to keep a watchful eye on their blood sugar. There is resource section in case some of the ingredients are hard to find.   There is even a guide that can help you assemble a healthy kitchen. Ms Daniluk also shares information regarding the nutritional value of food groups including precautions for what may seem to be a healthy choice. You will even find a food testing guide on how to decide if a particular food is creating a problem.
While the title is Meals That Heal Inflammation, its content covers so much more. The connection between inflammation and Cancer, Asthma, Diabetes (I & II) Heart Disease, Arthritis, even emotional trauma are just some of the illnesses covered. Most surprising and informative for me was the section that revolved around emotional pain and the chapter that covered allergies.  There is so much information in this book that I would have to write another book to cover it. You will not have to read this book from cover to cover. However the Introduction, Chapters one, two (emotional pain), three, nine and ten, I feel, are essential.  Once those chapters are digested the indexes and the table of contents should be able to provide you with enough information to expedite a successful healing journey.

Beyond Sugar Shock

If you pay attention to some of the most disturbing health challenges we face today, it is quite clear that sugar it one of the primary culprits. We are bombarded with commercials that feature sugary treats, fast food chains that highlight sugar laden menus, and so called vitamin enhanced cereals, and fruit punch juices all loaded with sugar. Let’s not leave out so called healthy yogurts, energy drinks, power bars and last however not least, chemical and sugar loaded processed foods.  When you look at the listed ingredients, sugar is in all kinds of sauces, condiments and breads. With half of the population being diabetic, pre diabetic and suffering from illnesses provoked by our sugar loaded foods, Beyond Sugar Shock is a book we should all have in our library. Especially if we have children!!

What I liked about this book is that there is a quiz in the beginning that helps you to identify if you are a borderline, full blown, or an emotional sugar addict which is very different from a person who enjoys moderate sweet consumption. Reading this book makes you or, perhaps I should say me, very conscious of my mood when a sweet craving attacks. Although I do not have a cupboard full of candy nor is my refrigerator filled with puddings, cake or soda, when the sugar monster rears its ugly head, a trip to the farmers market for a (whole) homemade key lime pie and a quart of cherry vanilla ice-cream is all I can think about. Sometimes I will add a pint of vanilla ice-cream and stop by the market for organic :) but very sweet chocolate sauce. The scary part is I do not know peace until it is all gone, which is usually within two days.  When I analyze these attacks, they occur when I am stressed and the sugar rush makes me feel better, it actually soothes my spirit.

What this book did for me was to make me understand why I overindulge when I go on a sugar binge and more importantly, the detrimental effects overindulging in sugar has on my organs, energy levels and moods.  Following her prescripts, you can map out a plan for whatever your sugar issue may be. For some, we may not stop cold turkey however, information provided in the book can one, makes you aware of the addictive nature of sugar and two, show you that while the taste of sugar is sweet, the health issues overindulgence can causes are not.  What I found truly helpful is the support she shares that you can take advantage of via online sites, support groups, recipes and even supplements that can be helpful. I am working on becoming a vegan (about 80% there), so I would have liked to see more emphasis placed on a vegan diet. However Ms. Bennett provided enough information to take me off the road to emotional Sugarland.  Hey I may even become sugar free. Trust me when she finishes with you she gives you food for serious thought.

Tweet & Retweet To Stop The Cycle Of Abuse & Bullying

Since my last blog, it occurred to me; as our health concerns rise, issues that fall under the umbrella of violence seem to increase. We tend to put abuse, bullying and acts of murder, rape, etcetera, in separate categories. To the victims of these atrocities, they are all a form of bullying; (an act of violence, aggression, or harassment against a weaker person). And let us not forget the mistreatment of animals, the environment along with destruction of personal and public property. While many may not see this as a typical health concern, I feel that it should be since it shows that questionable mental behavior is increasing and good mental health is declining. These issues are negatively affecting the quality of life for all of us and the time has come for creative, drastic, and provocative actions. Until we make an authentic CONCERTRD and UNITED effort, in spite of our organizational affiliations, this scary problem will continue to fester.

What prompted me to blog about this is that I received a tweet that revealed a statistic which purported; 13 million children are bullied every year This statistic only included the children being bullied. Unfortunately, victimization is an equal opportunity offense. The  perpetrators and the victims cover every social, racial, and economic group. We have to bring powerful attention to the masses before this issue becomes just another inevitable part of our culture. As Lady O (Oprah) expressed, listening to the details of these outrageous offenses is becoming like listening to white noise. The danger of white noise is, if we are not vigilant, the increase of this destructive conduct will be viewed as just another facet of cultural behavior. We worry, as we should, about foreign terrorist, (someone who uses violence to intimidate others, often for political purposes). However, what are we going to do about the horrific acts we perpetrate against each other? I also wonder how are we going to get people to have respect for animals and the environment, when we continue to disrespect and commit horrific acts against other human beings?

I propose that we make a plea to the Ad Council and the NFL to create a Public Service Announcement for the Super bowl regarding the problems that fall under the umbrella of abuse, bullying and the alarming violent behavior we are facing in today’s (civilized?) society. The message should denounce the negative and detrimental actions of bullies, and abusers.  Hopefully it will also stress the need for  authentic help and counsel for the victims, as well as the perpetrators. This is a service that should be supplied since frequently, abusers, bullies, and executors of violence are often victims or, have been in the past. Using football players (& sports celebrities in general) is ideal because: they are influential and they have a medley of fans that admire and revere them. Included in their fan base are those who are fragile, strong, straight, gay, men, women, CHILDREN, unlawful and law abiding citizens. Even those who are not football fans go to Super Bowl parties, watch the half time entertainment, and find themselves unable to escape the fan fare that revolves around this monumental event.

Encourage your followers to send tweets out to those who have influence regarding such a campaign. Some key contacts are listed below. Request that they tweet and retweet. We will have to put forth the same enthusiasm and energy the customers of Bank Of America used when they persuaded the organization to change their fee policy. While we may not be able to eliminate all behavioral misdeeds, as a civilized, intelligent and evolved society, we can for sure diminish this disturbing conduct. I am not so naive that I am closing my eyes to the big money that is spent for a Super Bowl commercial, however I am hopeful that someone can see the enormous  predicament our children, families, and society is facing and the consequences attached if we don’t do all that we can NOW!!

It is not news that as a society, we are experiencing a rise in health issues that revolve around diabetes, cancer, obesity, heart disease, questionable mental behavior and more. In a culture that gives us access to so much information that can help us reduce the risk for these conditions, we, as a civilized and evolved culture are missing the boat. Are we so brainwashed & anesthetized that we are unable to see how our health is deteriorating, mentally, physically, & spirituality? We see commercials for Pharmaceutical companies who clearly tell us that their products have the ability to alter our minds, inflict havoc on our organs and sometimes cause death.  Then there are the advertisements for recalls that include inferior body part replacements and drugs that have already caused death, organ failure and mind altering consequences.

The above issues do not include the problems we are experiencing due to poor dietary choices. Perhaps that is the subject we should analyze first. Poor dietary choices have caused and inflamed many of our health concerns. Proper dietary choices can resolve or diminish them. While many people know what foods are good for them and which ones are not, the issue may be that they do not understand why. For some of us, this is the reason we repeatedly continue to indulge in tasty however not the best food choices. Often this is because we don’t experience the consequences immediately. Suzanne Sommers stated on The Anderson Cooper Show, (I am paraphrasing), food serves as fuel for our bodies.  We would not put inferior fuel in a high performance car, why put damaging substances in our bodies?? The most valuable vehicle we will ever own.
